Alyssa was finally back in Louisiana after spending four years out west getting a 'higher education' as her parents called it. She certainly looked forward to being home, though, because one can't find a decent craw-fish basket anywhere in the state of California. At least, none that compared to anything Merlotte's served. As she got out of her car in the little bar and grille's parking lot, she remember how she couldn't find decent chicken fried steak in UCLA either and began to wonder how she'd ever decide what to order.
I seem to have beat the lunchtime rush, she thought, walking in. There were still quite a few table open and the bar itself was completely empty. She decided on a booth right by the door where she can see whoever was coming in. She liked people-watching. The waitress on duty, some girl with violent red hair dropped off a menu at her table on her way to delivering another pitcher of beer to the guys sitting two booths away. She opened it with great gusto. "Yum," she whispered, which seems to have gotten someone's attention.Alyssa Addison Baker

Hana walked into Merlottes, her braided hair rested on her left shoulder. She didn't mind that it was cold out side, she embraced the light grey button up sweater with a red lace tank top underneath. Hana's black cargo pants barely brushed the door as it swung to a close.
It seamed as though the travelers had already ate and wen on their way, leaving only the boys drinking a few cold ones after work and a few stragglers from lunch. When her keen half blood hearing picked up a small whisper she smiled, glancing at the new girl.

Alyssa blushed when she realized that she had just been caught by some stranger totally lusting after the biscuits on the menu. She had looked around and noticed a girl looking at her, expression unreadable. She dropped her gaze back to the menu without really seeing it, unsure if she should smile or not. This girl was surely not a vampire because she was out and about in the middle of the day, but, for some reason, she made Alyssa feel uneasy.
The waitress came back and she placed her order - Burger Lafayette with a side of potato wedges and cherry coke. She completely forgot about what she had wanted to order before since she was still trying to figure out if the girl was staring at her. She looked out the window, trying to see if she can see the girl, who was situation behind her when she's looking this way, can been seen on the reflection. What is she doing? Alyssa asked herself. She couldn't quite make out the girl's face from the flimsy reflection on the glass, but she could definitely tell that she was moving.

Hana bit her lip and looked down at her own menu, the poor new girl probably thought she was a phyco. When the waitress came by her table she ordered a simple coke with pork chops. The waitress in turn offered her a smile, hoping for a tip. It was rather funny to Hana just how far someone would go for an extra tip, it reminded her of when Sarah talked about her days of serving food. 'High heals and no brains leaves ya with twenties, I'm telling ya girl!'

With slight uncertainty, Alyssa turned to face the girl who seemed to be watching her closely. Her usual smile nowhere to be found on, she gave the stranger a small nod, seriously wondering now. Friend or foe? she asked herself. One can't be too careful nowadays. She took her phone out of her bag and busied herself with it, curious if the girl would walk up to her and try to befriend her.
Alyssa is usualy the first to make an effort to be friendly with people and she seemed harmless enough. It's just that, one can really never know. Alyssa Addison Baker

Hana wasn't friends with many humans in Town, and she could use some normalcy. It wasn't that she didn't like hanging out with Vampires, Faeries, and Shifters; not at all. It was just thats she was tired of hearing them talk of blood, elements and hunting. Hana knew it was time to meet people who were normal, so she stood up. She surprised her self by the nervousness that filled her as she made her way to the girls table. "Hi...?" Hana wasn't sure what to say, so she started with the most normal-and embarrassing- greeting in the world.

Texting was a sure way to get distracted as far as Alyssa was concerned and it definitely worked. She jumped slightly when she heard a reluctant greeting just a few feet from her. She looked up from her half finished text message to her mother and her eyes fell on the girl who was watching her. She did want to talk to Alyssa after all, it seemed.
The girl in front of her looked a little uncomfortable; something that wasn't normal if she was a murderous predator of any kind. In fact, now that Alyssa thought about it, she seemed unsure, awkward and a little scared. Or,m maybe scared wasn't the right word, Alyssa wasn't sure.
"Hello," she said simply, putting her phone down on the table. With a friendly smile, she added, "Can I help you with something?"Alyssa Addison Baker

Hana took a breathe, "To be honest, I noticed your new around here. And considering that fact that you don't look like a tourist I thought you might need some help getting around." Hana replied, her hands suddenly had a mind of their own and wouldn't stop fidgeting. "Besides, I know allot about what goes on around here, where to go and where not to go. From Fangtasia to the forest." She supposed trying to be helpful would be a good way to start a friendship, god Hana hoped she was right.

Alyssa wasn't really new to the area and she said so. "I actually lived in Shreveport most of my life," she told the stranger. "I've just been away for a while. I don't think that much has changed, though." Except that part wasn't exactly true. In the four years that Alyssa had spent in school out west, the vampires came out of their coffin, totally changing the world and how people lived in it. Louisiana was no exception.
Changes were apparent everywhere she turned and maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to have someone 'guide' her though it after all. After some thought, Alyssa asked the girl to sit with her as she waited for her burger and fries. "Call me Aly," she said, offering a handshake.Alyssa Addison Baker

Hana took her hand for a shake with a slightly relieved smile. She could never understand why she could humans were struck a trouble to her. Vampires, Shifters, even Warlocks seemed to at least smile at her. "I'm Hana." She tucked a hair behind her ear, wondering if she even had a chance with humans. Perhaps she should have started closer to home, talking to a fang banger or some one who was aware of just what was in this world.
