The sheriff of Area 10 was in Bon Temps, for some business. It was still a few days before Maci had to go back to Houston. She heard that her 'brother' Eric owned a night club in a near by town. Of course Eric wasn't really her brother, but she often called him that simply because they had the same maker. Maci was a few hundred years younger then Eric, she was a few years shy of 600. She also heard he was a Sheriff like herself, she couldn't picture the person who would be dumb enough to give him that much power.
But to her shock she heard things weren't that bad. The sun had just set as Maci made her way to Shreverport, to Fantasia. It hadn't been night long and there was already a pretty long line. Maci got out of her red corvette, and simply walked to the door, "Hey! We were waiting! Get in line." A male yelled out, Maci turned, and her fangs became present "This line doesn't apply to me. When your 597 then you can skip people." She hissed in her thick German accent, and he quickly looked at the ground. She rolled her eyes and made her way into the club.

Pam was on duty at the door of Fangtasia tonight. She really hasn't taken up that post in a while since most nights she's had to take Eric's place in the back office. Her maker, the sheriff of Area 5, was gone yet again, leaving Pam to deal with running the vampire bar they co-owned and whatever vampire situation that needed to be dealt with. She was hoping tonight would be uneventful since she's had a few crazy nights recently.
It wasn't looking like that wish was going to come true for her since there was some vampire girl who was cutting in line, obviously thinking she was above the rules. In Pam's opinion, since she was cutting ahead of humans, it was fine. After all, vampires are higher on the hierarchy. Except that wouldn't look good for vampire-human relations, something that Eric had been trying to keep up in Shreveport.
So, with a bored voice, she called out to the stranger, "Kindly wait your turn," and without a second glance returned to admitting patrons into the bar.Pam Ravenscroft

Maci looked up when a voice spoke to her, she smiled. "Pam?" She said walking closer to the vampire she hadn't seen in a long time. "I guess Eric's got you working the door? That sounds like him." Most people wasn't a fan of the vampire infront of Maci, but honestly she never had a problem with her, she didn't know if it was the other way around or not. She retracted her fangs, as she leaned against the wall near the door.
Every few seconds she would glare at the guy who had decided to say something against her, Maci was a peace loving vampire. Who had no problems with humans, in fact she shared Godric's belief that they could be treated as equals. But something about that guy didn't feel right to her, and that made her go on defense. "Where is Eric at anyway?" She asked, looking back at Pam.
((I figured that they would know each other already. Hope you don't mind))

Pam was torn away from her job one more time when she heard a familiar voice say her name. She turned around to get a closer look at the woman and her face broke into a smile. "Maci!" she practically shrieked. She hadn't seen the newcomeer in ages and she was glad she decided to drop by.
She walked away from the door to give the girl a hug, to the utter annoyance of all who were waiting in line to be admitted in. She gave Maci a quick hug but turned around right away, glaring at one man who was rolling his eyes at the scene. She led Maci in, in full view of the crowd, saying "He's away on business, so I'm actually in charge." Pam made sure that she was heard so that the fangbanger would cower. Nobody would mess with her if they knew she was in charge -- not that they should even if she wasn't.
Instead of stopping at the door, she led Maci in, shutting the door completely. Pam knew that the bartender, who was watching her with amusement, would send someone out there to take her place so she wasn't worried. "What brings you here?" she asked as they neared the bar.Pam Ravenscroft

Maci smiled back at Pam as she recognized her. It had been a long time since Maci had seen Pam, in fact thinking about it. Pam was still a baby vampire last time Maci was around. And her own progeny Tristan was just barely 250. To a human, that long would have seemed like forever, but for a vampire it seemed merely like a year or two. Maci glanced at the man again, she couldn't shake the feeling that something didn't fill right about him.
She hugged Pam back, she nodded when she was told that Eric was away on business "He would be gone, when I drop by to see him." Maci mused, she was still staying around here for a few more days. So she would just come every night until he was here, or she had to return to Houston. She followed her in, and laughed slightly as she shut the door on the other people waiting to be admitted in. She glanced around the club, it was already pretty packed. She looked at Pam when she spoke. "I'm here on some business. A human decided to drain a bunch of vampires in my area and run. So I'm here to track them down. So while I was here, I decided to drop by."

Drainers. That was one of the very few things that a vampire - even one with a position in the political hierarchy - would be worried about. These are humans who had gotten addicted to vampire blood and, as the name implies, drains a vampire to the point of the true death for it. It brings in quite a price in the black market, too.
Pam knew there were drainers in the area, but none that had gone so bad that it needed the sheriff's attention. Apparently, the same couldn't be said for Houston. "Oh, no!" Pam said, very uncharacteristically. Mainly, she said it for one reason. "If they are here and start wreaking havoc while Eric is still away, I'm gonna have to deal with them!" There wasn't a lot of work that Pam is willng to do and this is definitely not one of them.
They had reached the bar at this point. Usualy, Pam sat at her favorite booth at the corner but she decided to stay at the bar tonight. The bartender made his way over after sending one of the dancers out to the man the door. Pam Ravenscroft

Maci knew and could tell that Pam really didn't want to deal with the drainers. Even the older vampires had to worry about encountering them, because they often liked to hold vampires down with several big heavy sliver chains. But it appeared that the older vampires blood was going for a bigger price. And Maci had to admit to herself, she was a tad nervous about dealing with them, because she didn't want to fight and kill them, but she knew if it came down to it she would.
She nodded, "I know what you mean Pam." She said, and sat at a bar stool, crossing her legs. "If they start trouble here, I'll handle them. After all they broke the law in my area, so even if they are here. They're under my authority, plus I am older, and stronger so if they decided to try and drain I would have a better chance." She knew that if something happened to Pam because of drainers that she was supposed to deal with, Eric would have her head.

"Thank goodness for that," Pam said with genuine relief. She had no desire to run around Shreveport in her fabulous pink pumps looking for humans who may or may not be armed will silver. Hell, she didn't even like working at the bar; she did it because it was Eric's. If Pam had her way, she would be lounging by the pool -at night of course- sipping an A neg.
The bartender was still waiting for their order. "TruBlood?" she asked Maci. They certainly had a bit of catching up to do since they hadn't seen each other in years, after all. Though that's a short period of time to the undead, a lot could still have happened. "Eric was down in Dallas a little while ago, did you know?" Pam's maker had to go to Texas to help settle a few things. It was a trip she hadn't gone on but the human Sookie Stackhouse certainly went and seemed to have a hell of a time. Really, a hell of a time.Pam Ravenscroft

Maci could sense the relief in Pam's voice when she told her that she would handle the drainers. She didn't care too deal with the unpleasant, even thought she was slightly nervous. It was her job after all, to deal with these types of things. She nodded, "Yea A TruBlood will be fine. AB negative, if you have it." She smiled to the bar tender.
She looked at Pam, "You know, you should come visit me in Houston some time, I have quite a big house, with a pool and everything. And the hotel there supplies me with humans of every blood type. Not to mention there is fabulous stores." She said and smiled, she would loved if Pam came down sometimes and visited her, they could have some girl time.
she looked at her when she said Eric had been in Dallas. She shook her head, "I didn't know that." She wondered why he hadn't called and told her she would have drove up there and seen him. When the bartender brought them their drinks Maci popped the top off the bottle and took a drink. The stuff was awful, it was no where near as good as the real thing.

"That cetainly sounds interesting," Pam said after eharing what kind of luxuries are available to her friend at her home. Being sheriff does have its perks. Her own sheriff, for some reason, had neglected the whole pool and comfotable abode thing and opted for other types of perks, she thought just as Yvetta, the Polish pole dancer walked by. Not that she was totally against that either. "I should ask Eric for some time off. Don't human laws dictate that employees are supposed to have time off?"
That was meant to be a rhetorical question since Pam assumed taht Maci didn't care enough about human matters to really know. She, herself, didn't after all.
Pam also wasn't surprised that Eric hadn't swung by Houston when he was in Dallas with Bill Compton and Sookie Stackhouse. After all, there was quite a fiasco that needed dealing with at the time. She did think, however, that Eric would have called. At least to inform his fellow sheriff and friend of what's going on just in case he'd needed help. "Well, leave it to the men to keep us out of the loop."Pam Ravenscroft

Maci nodded, "If you came, you could meet my progeny Tristan." She said, no one expect her underlings in Houston had met the bleach blonde vampire, "You would be the 1st. Not even Godric or Eric has met him. I made him shortly after us three parted ways." She said then started picturing her progeny meeting Eric. She had a feeling that those two would get along fine, they both shared some of the same traits.
When Pam asked if it was human law that they required time off, Maci thought for a second. Even though she knew Pam wasn't expecting an answer, she answered anyway. "I'm pretty sure. I hear the human tourist in Houston talking all the time about their vacations. So I'm pretty sure that's what time off is called."
Maci started thinking back, Godric did tell her that Eric along with another vampire and a human came to Dallas. He had told her the whole story about how he went to the Fellowship of the sun willingly. Maci remembered she felt left out when she was told, she would have came to Dallas in a heartbeat and helped find her maker, she nodded. "Yea, they think they should know everything."
