It was late at night, and Jt was at his house he'd just gotten done cleaning his house from top to bottom, because it had been a while since he'd done it. And he knew if his grandmother came to his house and see it she would take it upon herself and do it, and then Jt would feel bad because she was cleaning his house. He looked at the clock, it was too early to go to bed, but not late enough to go and and party.
Jt jumped in the shower, once he was done he changed into a pair of jeans, a gray tee shirt, and a black leather jacket. He fixed his hair so it looked messy, and sprayed some axe on and got in his truck and left. He figured that he might as well go to Merlotte's and have a few drinks.
He drove down the familiar roads until he came to the parking lot, he parked and got out and made his way into the bar and grill. He went and sat at the bar he looked and seen a new bartender, he wondered what happened to Tara. She looked to be about in her mid 20s. She walked over to Jt, and leaned on the counter, her low cut shirt showing all she had. "Hey cutie. You can have anything, so what can I get you?" She asked in a overly flirty voice, Jt smiled a charming smile at her, "Just a beer please." She frowned and walked over and got his beer and sat it in front of him.
'All these people. They are are gonna die if they get in my way.' A thought said loud and clear. Jt turned and looked, a older middle aged man walked in, his eyes landing a man who sat over in the corner with a bunch of friends. 'That bastard, he stole my wife. I'm going to put a bullet in his head.' He thought, as the man got up from his table and went to the bathroom, the man with a gun followed. Jt quickly got up and followed, just as the man pulled the gun Jt grabbed him. "I don't think you want to do that buddy."

Sookie Stackhouse, telepath, barmaid and friend, has been complaining all day. Being the good friend that she is, she had agreed to take Arlene Fowler's shift today after her own so she's basically been on her feet for 9 hours straight. Her boss, Sam Merlotte was away on business and her best friend Tara had gotten fired from the bar ages ago so she was pretty much stuck with the new employees. And, face it, they weren't very good. The new bartender, for instance, seems to be more interested in serving herself up than the booze.
She had rolled her eyes then because she's just seen the said bartender lean so far over that her insides were hanging out because a cute boy just came in. Sookie was glad to see that the boy, who she's never seen around here before, did not seem interested all at.
As exhausted as she was, her guard wasn't up so much that she could hear little things here and there. They didn't bother her since they were mostly things like what to order, wonder where Sam is and damn, crazy Sookie looks hot. Okay, fine, maybe that last one was a little bothersome.
Just minutes after that boy came in, though, something truly worrisome flew into her radar. 'All these people. They are are gonna die if they get in my way., a voice unfamiliar to Sookie said pretty darn clearly. Whoever it was seemed determined. She dropped the towel she was wiping a table with and turned around. 'That bastard, he stole my wife. I'm going to put a bullet in his head,' the train of thought continued and before she could react - scream, run, hide - something incredibly unexpected happened. The boy at the bar beat her to it - to reacting to a man who was thinking something!
She watched in amazement as he grabbed he gun from the stranger and said something to him that she was unable to hear from where she was standing. What she did hear was the gunman's reaction to it. 'Victim number one,' he counted in his head and before Sookie new it, she screamed, "Watch out!" Sookie Stackhouse

The man elbowed Jt in the gut and he stumbled backwards. Jt heard his thoughts as he pointed the gun at him. He put his hands out infront of him, trying to portect his face although he knew a bullet would go through it. As he put his hands up a jet of blue light shot from them, knocking the gun out of the man's hand and pushing him back against the wall. Quickly Jt reacted, grabbing the gun and pointing it at him. "Someone call the police!" Jt barked and the women behind the bar did.
Jt kept his eyes and the gun of the man. "I swear to god if you move, i will shoot you where you stand." He threatened. When the police got there, they handcuffed the man and took him away. And questioned Jt along with a few other people, of course the others told the police about Jt shooting the light out of his hand and now they had him handcuffed. "You are arresting me for no reason!" he objected. "Your not human according to the people. We're takin' you in until we know what you are."

For the second time that night, Sookie was a little late in reacting to what's going on. This time, it was merely because so many things happened at once that, for the most part, all she could do was watch. Right before her eyes, the man tried to shoot the boy she attempted to warn but then, something happened that they'd never seen before. At least, the rest of the people in the bar hadn't because Sookie was the exception. Those blue lights that came from the boys fingers were familiar to her already. She has had that happen to her before.
Before she knew it, the Andy Bellefleur was in the bar. Apparently, some patron with a little more brain the Sookie usually gives them credit for, used their cellphone to call the cops. People were being interviewed, Sookie, herself included. Her interview, in fact, took a little longer than the others because A. Andy never really liked her and B. she tried to tweak the story to make it sound like the rest of the 20 or so people in the bar didn't really see what they thought they did. From what Andy was thinking, though, she knew she didn't do a very good job. All she accomplished was give the detective more reason to suspect she was weirder than he thought.
After when she got out of Sam's office, which is where the interviewed were conducted, she saw that Kenya Jones had the boy in handcuffs. He was trying like hell to explain that there was no reason to arrest him and the only response that he got was, "Your not human according to the people. We're takin' you in until we know what you are." "Let him go, Kenya!" she told the police officer. Something about how she had said that made her snap. If he wasn't human, does that mean neither am I? she asked herself not realizing that the boy may hear her like she heard him. Sookie Stackhouse

Jt looked at the officer, "Not human? Of course I'm human, do I look like a vampire?" He asked, knowing the people here probably thought that vampires were the only supernatural thing around. The officer shoved him roughly toward the door, "Humans don't shoot jets of lights out of their hands." Jt heard the thoughts of the waitress, he turned to look at her, what was she talking about? Was she like him? Could she read minds as well? Thoughts of all the people in the bar was swirling around in Jt's mind, one thought hit him. A older women was sitting in the corner 'They just want to know what he is...Why don't he just lie?' She thought.
Jt felt so stupid, why hadn't he thought of that? "Alright. I'm a wizard." he lied, but he did it convincingly. The officer that was pulling him toward the door stopped, "Really?" Jt nodded, "Then do it again." He sighed, but thought quickly. "I'm a new wizard. I haven't got my powers under control yet, I don't know how I done it." The officer seemed to be thinking this over, and in the next minute, Jt was uncuffed. This night had been one he wouldn't soon forget, he looked around everyone was staring at him. Their thoughts were wrapping around what they thought he was. They were judging him, their thoughts prejudiced against him after he'd just saved them. He rolled his eyes and walked outside into the parking lot, to get away from their gaze.

Not wanting to draw any more attention to herself that she already had by telling Kenya to let the boy go, Sookie shrunk to the wall and watched in silence. A Wizard. That was what the boy said he was. Images of little boys and girl in robes carrying books around a castle where the went to school filled her head and she couldn't help but snicker. She imagined herself in one of them, skirt too short and blouse to tight.
As funny as that may have been, she still found it a little disturbing. That would mean I'm a witch, she thought with a slight panic. Right then, immediately after Kenya Jones took the cuffs off the stranger, he walked out into the parking lot. He hadn't ran or anything because , Sookie assumed, that would look suspicious, but she could tell that he couldn't wait to get out of there.
Patrons, employees and deputies alike were distracted by the conversations among themselves and Sookie took it as a opputunity to slip out and talk to the boy. "Hey!" she yelled across the parking lot once she was out the door. "Hey, wait!" Sookie Stackhouse

Jt was digging in his pocket for his truck keys, he was going to go home and forget this whole thing ever happened. He just saved half of the people in there from a violent death, and what do they do? The start judging him, now they thought he was a person who wore long robes and used a wand to cast spells, hell some of them wondered if he knew Harry Potter. Jt rolled his eyes, it was either say that and not go to jail or say he didn't know and go to jail. So basically if he would have told the truth he would be on his way to jail right now.
Jt didn't know what he was, but he did know he was different. Him and Erica had been different their whole lives. He got to his truck and unlocked the door until he heard someone telling him to wait. He turned his head and seen one of the waitress was walking out to him. It was the blonde one who'd told the cop to let him go, he let his guard down and sighed thankfully, her thoughts were not judging him. He looked at her, "Yea?" He asked, running a hand through his black hair causing it look even more messy. He leaned against his truck, waiting on her to speak.

All her life, Sookie has been burdened with the fact that she was different. She was so out of the norm that even her own parents didn't understand what she was and how she could hear things. Not once in her life had she ever considered that there was someone out there like her. Not until tonight, that is, when that boy beat her to stopping a gunman. She wasn't about to let him walk away without at least talking to him.
Luckily, he had stopped halfway through opening his truck door and waited for her to catch up. A few more strides and she was just a few feet away from him. Right then, though, words escaped her. She had no idea what to say to, essentially, the person she's been looking for all her life; the person who can tell her who she was - what she was.
"I, uh," Sookie began lamely. She had no idea where to begin. "So, wizard, huh?" She figured that was safe enough because if it turns out that he was just like everyone else, at least she won't sound like a lunatic saying You can do what I can do? Sookie Stackhouse

Jt grinned and chuckled to himself as he shook his head no. "I'm not really a wizard. I just said that so i would spend a night in jail. My mom wouldn't come bail me out, and I didn't want my 17 year old sister to spend her money on that." Jt would rather Erica spend her money on herself then use it to bail him out of jail. He looked at the waitress again. "I'm Jt. Well my real name is Jason but I don't go by it." He introduced himself, before slipping into her mind again. He didn't mean too but he hadn't put his guard up again. Her thoughts were that he was like her.
Jt looked at her for a second, she could read minds like him and Erica? All their life they thought they were the only ones, but now that he was standing here talking to someone like him. He didn't have words to describe how he felt, he only wished Erica was here. "I really have no clue what I am. But my sister is just like me." he looked at her for a few more seconds. He wanted to wrap her up in a tight hug and thank her for being what she was, because now he knew there was others like him. But he didn't because that would be awkward and weird.

"Your sister Erica?" Sookie asked him before she realized that she was listening to his thoughts more than his words. His head with filled with the same wonder and gratitude that hers is for finding her. "My name's Sookie," she told him, holding out her hand for a shake. She knew, though maybe he didn't, that touch would actually make reading each other's thoughts that much easier.
Sookie has lived in Bon Temps all her life and in that entire time, she's ben thought of a special - no, crazy. She wondered why she's never heard of JT and Erica; after all, Bon Temps is a small enough town for gossip to travel swiftly in. "Are ya'll from around here?" she inquired. Sookie Stackhouse
