The morning sun shimmered off the wet cooling pavement, cars were slowly crawling along past the strip of shops housing Bon Temps only real shopping district. Claudine was on a mission today, her sensible shoes and suit on as she headed towards the Real Estate office at the end of the strip, she wanted to get some business done before the heat kicked in.

Walking past the shops she swung her case happily as she pushed open the door to the real estate. The sun moved slowly over the window as she completed her business, the streets outside getting busier as the morning went on, the coffee shop across the road unstacking more chairs as business got stronger and the lunch crowd began to move in.

Completing her purchase she pushed open the glass doors and lamented the loss of the cool aircondition as the pretty fairy walked out into the streets, so happy with her purchase she decided to do a little shopping before heading across to sign the papers at the bank.

Dropping her case between her legs and raising her arms to pull her long hair up into a spun bun she waved at her neck and pulled her sunglasses out of the case in her hand bag. Inhaling deeply she opened her eyes and looked across at the girls clothing store next to the cafe, one of her own was in there she smiled thinking how full of supernatural s Bon Temps was, she almost moved on before she seemed to get a strange feeling that she must meet this creature.

Waving her hand at the cars she ran across the street and pushed the door open to the shop, spotting the girl she watched her for a moment waiting to see if she would pick up on Claudine.

Erica had always been different, she had never fit into the category of 'normal'. She never had many friends because of her abilities, only a few close ones. Her brother however, he was popular when he was in high school, star of the foot ball team and everything. But he didn't let his gifts slow him down or handicap him. He was too out going for that, to let something like reading minds stop him from having a good time.

She's gotten use to it, now. The only people that knew about Erica's abilities was her brother, mother, and grandmother. Erica and her best friend Maire was at Aeropostal, "Hey Eric." she said using Erica's nickname. "Wanna go to Fangtasia tonight?" Even though the girls were only 17, they had fake IDs and often went to bars and partied. Erica looked at Maire, "I don't know, I hate going to that vampire bar. I feel like they are all staring at me like I'm something to eat."

Maire laughed, "Because you are silly. They stare at me too, it's because they smell our blood." She explained, Erica shook her head, "No, it's like they stare at me more. Like your the dinner and I'm the desert." She said unknowing how true that statement was. "And besides last time you left me there while you went and screwed some vampire." Maire replied by pouting, "I promise I won't leave you this time." Erica sighed, "Fine alright." It was then Erica felt some one's gaze on her, she turned and seen a women staring at her. She quickly looked back to the rack of clothes, why was she staring at her?

Flinching as she realised she was staring she quickly ducked back into the rows of clothes and started browsing, using her senses to listen in on the girls conversation. It was basic conversation for girls their age, boys, school, dances it was all there but she could see Erica was distant to it all, except when they spoke about Fangtasia. Claudine moved closer to the girls as she became very interested in a handbag, they were speaking of going to the place, but Erica was nervous and Claudine knew why.

Twisting the hand bag over in her hands she continued to listen to them talk, the girl with Erica was bragging of her Vampire conquests, Claudine shook her head slightly, she knew if the girl kept it up she would soon find herself the source of a meal for one of them. She became more and more anxious as she thought of the future these girls were carving out for themselves, her hand lifted and twisted her hair, shoving it in her mouth and chewing on it, a nervous habit she had.

Erica moved away from the shelves as Claudine was absorbed in the handbag and her own worries for the girls future, she turned to find them at the front, she could not let this girl get away, she knew she had to try to engage with Erica and speak to her about who she was. Moving quickly to intercept the girls she did not realise she had been standing in a strewn handbag on the floor, it caught up in her boots and tripped her as she spun to follow them.

Falling forward she grabbed onto Erica and pulled her down with her as she landed on the floor "OOF" rushed out of her mouth as she landed on her butt with Erica beside her smiling at the girl with a grimace on her face "well that's one way to get your attention" she laughed
