To say he was nervous was a complete understatement. He and Jaxon had waited for so long. Or at least it seemed like an eternity for him to wait for this night to come. And what a fine night it was. A slightly cool breeze was going through the air. A full moon was covered by the clouds, but could still be seen. The air felt and held the smell of rain. And he knew what that meant. Tomorrow night, when they rose it would be most likely they’d be covered in mud. He stood to his feet for having been squatted down. And he looked at the freshly dug hole in the earth. He dug the hole upon waking and made sure it was done right. Though his Jaxon would have to sleep beneath the earth, he wanted him to have some level of comfort anyway. Gabe had picked this location for its convenience to his own home. Being close to a supply of donor blood would be good. But he had other plans. Gabe preferred the hunt. The thrill of it he guessed was just the predator in him. But it was a part of being a vampire. The only other time it showed itself truly was when Gabe became possessive. It was accompanied by a growl, which Jax knew well.
Gabe had encouraged Jaxon to spend every moment he could get in the sun for the past few days. For seeing it again as a vampire would bring his end. But he turned from the hole in the ground, and walked back to his home. The planks of the back porch creaked and whined as he stepped onto it. And the screen door slammed shut as he went through it. And once again the strong scent of Fae blood filled his home. Gabe had spent two nights trying to purge his home of the scent. Knowing that for Jaxon, Fae blood would drive him insane. It would cause a frenzy of a bloodlust. He had spoken with his son about the man he’d brought home. Telling him just what he was. Or he was, at the most, a half-bred. For the scent also held a human aspect. He’d asked Ian to be very careful. As the scent was on his own skin. And he didn’t want to be having to pull his lover off from trying to kill his son. He knew that now, things were going to be very difficult when the two met. But Ian did live in this house, and he wasn’t going to put him out.
But now his feet just stopped. He heard the sound of tires and gravel. Someone was here. And it took him less than a moment to feel who it was. And it brought a smile to his face. It was almost time for his turning. He wondered if Jaxon would want to do this right away. Or it he wanted to wait for a certain amount of time. And it made him a little more nervous. Love or not. Jaxon would still be his first turned. He was scared that something may go wrong. But he looked up and smiled when the door open and he saw Jaxon standing there. “I missed you.” He said, walking up to him. He placed his hand on the side of his face and let it slide to the back of his neck, pulling him in to kiss him deeply. He hadn’t seen him in two days. He wanted to give him time to be human a little longer. But it nearly killed him to be parted from him. Though, he wanted him to have that time. Because after tonight, the dark would be his lifetime. And endless eternity with him in the dark.

Just as Gabe had asked of him, Jaxon had spent the last two days soaking up the rays of the sun on the edge of his mother's pool. His relationship with her hadn't improved, but she wasn't risking losing her only son simply because he was about to become one of the living dead. And so, he'd had a good talk to his sister, and convinced his mother that he was going to be all right, then he prepared to return to Bon Temps, just as the sun was beginning to set. He missed Gabe. Hell, he always missed him. But lately... after his outburst, his love and longing had grown. Jaxon knew Gabe had been hurting after their argument, and he wanted to mend that any way he knew how.
His eyes wandered as he drove up the main street that led to Bon Temps, remembering to stop right before he hit town so he could turn up the narrow forest path towards the home Gabe shared with his son. He hadn't actually met Ian yet. And he was nervous. What if he attacked him? What if he did something to Gabe's son. What if he couldn't control himself? Now, while he knew Gabe wouldn't let anything happen, he still had concerns. But nothing was going to let him back out from the planned turning. Jaxon let the thoughts roll over and over in his mind as he pulled up outside Gabe's house, before stepping out. He could already feel Gabe's relief that he was here. Smiling as well, Jaxon tugged off his coat, leaving it in his car before he almost bounded up to Gabe's front door, pushing open the screen and stepping into the front hall.
"Gabe..." Jaxon's whisper was almost missed as he arched up into the vampire's touch, his lips meeting his lover's eagerly as his hands slid down his chest and around his body, holding him close. He would never get enough of Gabe. No matter how long they spent together, they could always be closer. And Jaxon lavished the fact that he loved Gabe so much, that Gabe loved him so much, that there was still so much they both had yet to experience. "I missed you too..."
He wanted to tell Gabe that he was worried, concerned about his turning, but he knew that Gabe would never let anything happen to him. And that there was no need to truly worry. His hands moved higher, lifting to drape over Gabe's shoulders as his kiss deepened before he pulled back and smiled wickedly at the older man. "Two days is too long..." he murmured, trailing the pad of his thumb across Gabe's bottom lips. "I love you, but never tell me to take a two day vacation ever again..."

To have Jaxon in his arms was the greatest feeling he had in centuries. Nothing he could think of could even come close to even be conceivably better than it. Jax’s heat spread through his like a wildfire. He had missed him more than anything over the past few days. And he smiled when he spoke is words. He let his hands find they’re way across every contour they could reach without tearing Jaxon’s clothes off. “What a few centuries, then you’ll want a break from me.” He laughed, nuzzling his head into Jax’s neck. He took this time to take his the scent of his hot blood. This would be the last night his blood would hold a human scent. It would be the same yes, but hold a vampire feel. But eventually it did sink in, Gabe would always have Jaxon. He'd spent so long alone. And now the person he knew he could share eternity with was about to enter this world for him.
Starting from Jax’s shoulder he kissed a trail up to under his chin. “You know.” He said. “We have plenty of time. Or would you prefer we go straight into what we planned.” He spoke softly, now looking into Jax’s eyes. Though he ached to take and turn him now he wanted to know what Jaxon wanted. If whether or not he wanted to go right into the turning. Or spend a little more time with Gabe as the human he fell for. And he also wondered if he should bring up the next topic. He wasn’t sure how Jaxon would react to hunting upon waking. But he had to be prepared for what was to come.
“I thought it best I tell you now. But you will be hunting upon waking tomorrow night. It’s something that will be common in your life to come. So I see no reason in delaying it.” he spoke. He wanted Jax to know what was to be expected. “The first time will be the hardest. I’m not going make it sound easy, because it’s not.” He added. “But don’t worry love.” He said, tightening his hold on him. “So long as I’m there to help you, you won’t harm anyone.” He said, though he knew it was something of a contradiction. After all feeding on someone did hurt them when they were bit into. So he was trying to be polite about saying he wouldn’t let Jaxon kill anyone. Gabe remembered his first kill. The look on the young woman’s face still haunted him.

Jaxon's very body screamed with approval as he melted into Gabe's touch. Ok, yeah, sure, sappy romance movie moment. he didn't care. He loved Gabe, and he;d shout it from the rooftops to prove it. A soft gasp of delight left him as he felt Gabe's lips leave a fiery trail along his jaw and across his chin. His eyes flicked to the vampire's, and a playful smile met his lips before he pushed Gabe back, forcing him to drop back onto the couch before he moved on top, his body pressing against the vampire's before he caught his lips again, silencing his lover's words with a gentle embrace.
"You'll have to ward me away with silver," he teased as he let his arms drape over Gabe's shoulders, staring down at his lover with a smile. Gabe's words were barely audible, but he still caught them, his eyes flicking over the vampire's as he spoke, before he nodded some. "I think I'd prefer to keep to our plans, if that's ok with you..."
Jaxon's body seemed to fit perfectly in Gabe's arms, and he let out a deep sigh before he snuggled down, his head resting against the vampire's shoulder, just enjoying the silence before his lover spoke again. His body tensed some, and he was silent for the longest time before he looked up and spoke again, eyes darkening with thought as he flicked his gaze across Gabe's face.
"Hunting? Do you mean, like, hunting people?" that thought made Jaxon's face pale some. Out of all this, he had totally forgotten that vampires had to drink human blood to survive. And he knew that. He was fine with Gabe doing it, hell, he'd let Gabe drink his own blood from time to time. But... the thought that he would be out there, preying on some innocent. It made his blood run cold. But, he knew it had to be done. He nodded faintly as Gabe commented that he'd be there to help him. He knew Gabe would never let anything happen to him, or anyone that he hunted. His arms moved to tighten around Gabe's shoulders, and he pressed his lips to the vampire's cool throat, calming himself with his lover's scent.
"I love you, and I trust you Gabe..." he replied softly, pulling back to smile wickedly. Ah, that smile of his. He winked and let his hand rise to trail down the side of Gabe's features, before he leant i to kiss him again.

Gabe held to Jaxon tightly. “Yes, that’s exactly what I mean. But I will be there with you every step you take. I wont let you hurt anyone.” He smiled. And meaning every word he spoke. He would ensure Jaxon’s turning to be as smooth as he could make it for him. He knew then and there he’d never send him from him again. He barely lasted on the days that they had to be away. And he nearly crawled out of his own skin making him be away. He wanted him to feel human for just a little longer before he could no longer possess it. But Jaxon didn’t want to delay any longer in they’re plans. And Gabe wasn’t going to make him wait to join his life any longer.
He tilted Jax’s chin up and kissed his throat. “Then we won’t delay any longer.” he spoke. And he switched around they’re arrangement. He let Jaxon lay against him, giving better access to his throat. And he let his fangs out. He kissed the spot on his neck and let his tongue roll over the beating pulse. And finally, he let his fangs sink into the flesh of his lover. And his blood ran hot. Gabe kept his bite gentle as always. He wanted to make this as comfortable for him as possible. But this time he would stop drinking till he had drained him, make his body ready for his blood and the turn. He kept a hand on Jaxon’s chest, keeping in check with his heartbeats.
And now, after several minutes, it came to a point. If he stopped now, Jaxon would live and continue on as a human. It was a point in which he was always careful to not go past. But this time he did, he continued to feed. And he counted the heart beats. And he lets the minutes pass. And eventually it was time. He removed his fangs from Jaxon’s neck, and bite into his own wrist. And let Jaxon feed from it. He leaned his head back as he felt Jax take his blood. It gave him great pleasure to feel his lover take blood from him. And when Jaxon suddenly stooped feeding he knew it was time. He moved quickly to carry Jaxon out back and laid him gently into the hole of freshly dug earth. He lay beside him and pulled on a rope. He put all the dug up dirt onto a tarp. So that it could all easily be put back with him in the hole. And the soil covered them completely. Even through the dirt he found Jaxon’s form. Wrapping his arm around him he pulled him close to his body. He wanted him to wake with him tomorrow night. And he entered his sleep early. Tomorrow night he would rise, with Jaxon newly turned.

Jaxon's eyes flashed with worry as Gabe changed their positions. His hand lifted to caress the vampire's face before he smiled weakly and tilted his head, a soft shudder rippling through his body as Gabe's fangs sunk into his soft flesh. A rush ran through him and he couldn't help but moan, like he always did, when Gabe fed from him, his hands clutching at the vampire's shoulders. His eyes closed, and he bit into his bottom lip, having the faintest thought that he'd never be human again. And that there was so much he would miss. The sun, for one. Hamburgers, for another... That intangible rush of desire every time he got close to Gabe. He knew Gabe did feel for him, but after being alive for a few centuries, he was sure the initial rush of desire dwindled to a deep longing. Though he knew nothing would stop him from wanting Gabe.
"I love you, Gabriel Arygros," he whispered, speaking for once in Greek. He had been wanting to show Gabe long before this, but it had never come up. Now seemed like the perfect time. His hand touched the back of Gabe's head and he felt himself almost merge with the vampire, his breathing becoming shallow as his hearbeat began to slow. He could feel his blood leave his body, a soft pull caused by Gabe as his lover held him close.
He struggled to keep his eyes open, his grip lightening on the vampire as he let out a soft moan before he closed his eyes, at the same time as he felt Gabe press his wrist against his lips. A warm liquid began to drip into his mouth, and he made to pull away before his lips closed around the wound and he drank, just enough before he sunk against his love. Darkness began to sink in, and he let a soft noise past his lips, meshed with the words 'i love you' before he fainted.

Gabe began to stir within the soil. The sun had fallen from the sky. And the dark called out to his instinct to rise. And he woke in response to it, even in the dirt he could still feel Jaxon wrapped in his arm. He was not awake yet. The first night would be the hardest to most. But he was determined to make this easy for him tonight. So, reluctantly, he released his grip on Jaxon and crawled his way out of the dirt and soil. He hated sleeping in the dirt. And he only did so if he had to and whenever he couldn’t find a light tight home to sleep in for the night. But this was exactly dirt. It was more like a pit of mud the last couple feet he had to dig through. He laid on the wet grass as he pulled himself out of the whole. He turned his head to view his home. It was dark, Ian had done as was asked. He didn’t want his son to meet Jaxon the first night. He knew Jax would be hungry, and he didn’t want his son on the menu. So he was staying with someone.
He stood to his feet and stretched out every muscle in his body. Letting his form take in the glorious night that had come. It was a perfect night for a first rising. The moon was half full, and gentle breeze wafted though the air. Making it comfortable for even a human. But this was the first night of Jaxon’s eternity with him so he looked down when he started to notice the pit of dirt and mud moving. His lover was rising as a vampire. And Gabe would keep him forever safe.
He let his Greek language roll over his tongue as he spoke. He remembered Jaxon speaking it last night. Though it was Greek, it wasn’t his dialect of it. That’s the one thing history failed to keep track of. Because of how some villages were isolated, the dialects spoken were very different depending on the region. “Welcome to your new life.” He smiled. And he aided his lover by pulling him from the dirt. He smiled at him as he stood up and brushed the dirt and mud from his face. “You wont have to sleep in the ground again, I promise you that.” He said. He didn’t like sleeping in the dirt. So he wouldn’t subject his Jaxon to that kind of sleep. But cover in dirt or not, so was he. And he kissed him, his tongue finding easy entry. And his arms found they’re way around Jax’s waist. He broke it moments later. "You know, I think I like you covered in mud." he grinned.

Crickets. Why the hell could he hear crickets? There weren't any crickets in his bedroom, were there? And speaking of his bedroom, why was he wet... Jaxon began to stir, a soft groan leaving him as he attempted to move some, only to find his movements constricted by a fucking huge load of compacted dirty and mud. What the f***! Keeping his eyes closed, a borderline claustrophobic Jaxon began to claw his way up, leaving behind granules of dirt for sticky, oozing mud. it soaked into his shirt and his hair, but finally, he was free of it, spitting out a mouthful of dirt as he clambered up onto the grass as Gabe's feet. He still hadn't dared to open his eyes, but he knew it was Gabe, by his... his... scent? He took a deep breath. Yep, that was Gabe all right. He just wasn't sure how he knew that.
Slowly, he opened his eyes, blinking away grains of dirt and sand as he looked up at Gabe, before taking his lover's hand and rising to his feet. Everything seemed to be clearer. Almost brighter, as if he could see better at night than he could ever during the day. His eyes flicked across Gabe's face, and he matched the older vampire's smile with one of his own before he leant forward and locked his lips with Gabe's, meeting his lover's eagerness, his hands looping around Gabe's neck. As he drew closer, he became more and more aware of the delicious scent that hung around his lover, and he closed his eyes as a soft growl left him, muffled by Gabe's lips. He pulled back as Gabe did, and frowned with mock discouragement as Gabe made the comment about mud. His fingertips trailed down his lover's arms, before he caught him by the wrists and tumbled him back, causing both to fall into the muddy hole. Once Gabe was below him, Jaxon grinned and leant down, pressing his lips to Gabe's before he made a face and wiped away the mud before kissing him again.
"You have disturbing..." he trailed off as another scent caught him. lifting his head, he glanced towards the forest, frowning some as his eyes scanned each little part before he straightened. What was it? It smelt good... but it couldn't be close. Jaxon knew no one else lived out this far from town, save for Gabe's son Ian and their friend Daniel. Letting his fingers trail across his stomach as it cramped from hunger, Jaxon frowned again before looking at Gabe. "...I am absolutely starving."

Gabe smiled as he and Jax played and kissed. But he did his best to keep his arms around him. Not matter what species Jax was, holding him in his arms felt just as satisfying and he’d never tire of holding him. And he smiled even more when he started to speak. And Gabe caught the scent just as Jax did. And he tightened his hold on his a little. He was intent on keeping his word. But he was a bit taken that Jax didn’t try to break free and go after the scent. And smile when he spoke again. He leaned up and kissed him. And he stood to his feet and shook off the mud and dirt. Though his skin was still covered in it. He turned to face Jaxon. Well, it seems we won’t have to clean up for hunting. He reached forward and took Jax’s hand. “Come on.” He spoke, smiling slightly. And with seconds the two of them were lurking in the woods.
Gabe could tell from the scent it was one person. But that was fine by him. He had plenty of donor blood to sustain himself with. This hunt was for Jaxon. And Gabe stood absolutely still, till he heard a branch snap. They gotten ahead of this human, they were down wind, which made him easier to find. And Gabe stepped out into his path when he got close enough; he needed to see his eyes. And his glamour took hold immediately. He wasn’t going to let the guy run. It might be too much for Jaxon’s newly brought vampirism to sit still. But the man froze he didn’t move. “Step forward, slowly.” He spoke and the man responded. He was dressed in hiker’s gear. Gabe figured he probably got lost here in the woods. “Stop.” He said, and the man stopped, unable to disobey Gabe’s words.
Without breaking eye contact he gestured to Jaxon. “Stand in front of me.” He said and he waited till Jax was between him and the hiker. “Look into his, directly. And you feel his mind, let yourself take hold on it.” and after a moment Gabe turned his head, letting Jaxon take over on the glamour. And he was pleased that that had gone so well. And he kissed Jax’s neck. “Well done love.” He breathed. His smile could be felt on Jax’s neck. And he brought his lips to Jaxon’s ear. “Tell him he’s gonna be just fine. Then approach him slowly.” He paused. He knew he’d have to be specific about what to do next. “Instinct should take care the fangs. Now when you first bite the blood will fill your mouth very quickly, so you’ll have to swallow pretty fast, but after that it should be similar to drinking from a glass.” He instructed. “Don’t worry, you’ll do fine.” He spoke softly, kissing the corner of Jax’s forehead.

Jaxon was too preoccupied by the scent that was pervading his senses to notice Gabe speak, until he blinked and they were in the forest. Tilting his head, he glanced around, frowning some before a low growl erupted from his chest. He could hear the man's heartbeat, a steady rhythm that had Jaxon on edge. His hand tightened in Gabe's, but he resisted the urge to take off after the heartbeat, that flow of blood, the hot liquid that called to Jaxon, coaxed him forward. He heard a noise, that sounded something like a hungry animal, and he stiffened when he realised the noise had come from him. Was this what it was like to be a vampire? To always want to feed on human blood. His thoughts were broken when he realised Gabe had moved again, stopping the hiker. Jaxon moved slowly, stepping up as Gabe told him to.
"I..." Jaxon wasn't sure he could do this. His hand caught Gabe's, and he squeezed it as he stepped between his lover and the human, his eyes finally meeting the human's. His hand slipped away from Gabe's, and he stepped forward, his head tilting to the side just slightly with a small, forced smile. As he looked into the human's eyes, he felt something, a sort of pull before the two seemed to become connected. Taking a deep breath, Jaxon lifted his hand and touched the man's shoulder. "It's going to be all right. You'll be just fine..."
He was aware of Gabe's lips on his ear, and smiled briefly as he kept the glamour, listening to Gabe's words as he stepped closer. There was a soft click, and a pressure in his mouth. parting his lips, he ran his tongue over the tips of his newly developed fangs, before he felt a sort of tug deep within him, and leant close, letting his fingers snake along the hiker's shoulder and up into his hair, tugging his head to the side before his mouth descended, fangs piercing warm flesh. Gabe was right, the first bite caused blood to rush from the wound, filling Jaxon's mouth almost too fast for him to respond. Gulping, he let the liquid drain down his throat, a soft groan leaving him as he continued, his free hand lifting to clutch the man's shoulder. Faintly aware of the heartbeat beneath his fingers, Jaxon let himself go, caught by that first initial rush of being a vampire, and with none of the experience of control that came with it.

Gabe continued to kiss the side of Jax’s neck as he heard his newly made fangs click out. He wanted to give him every assurance he could that he would do well. And then he stood back and watched. And Gabe could smell the blood as Jaxon had begun to feed. And so he stood there, making no noise. He just listened to the man’s heartbeat. He would let Jaxon know when to stop. So he walked a little closer to the feeding Jaxon. And he waited a little more, wanting to give Jaxon every moment in this he could afford.
He placed his hand on Jax’s back and snaked it up to his shoulder. And he whispered into his ear. “Love, its time to stop.” He spoke softly. And he kept everything in check. Seconds later heard the hiker’s heartbeat began to slow down. He would be cutting it close, but he had to stop Jaxon now, otherwise he’d end up killing the hiker. He kept his voice calm, “Jaxon, you must stop.” He spoke. He stood there watching his lover continue to feed. And he recalled the memory of his first feeding. The times were brutal, and he’d behaved like nothing more than an animal on the hunt. Four people had died by his own savagery. And he hoped Jax wouldn’t have to live with that kind of memory. But if he killed this man, there was nothing even Gabe could do but comfort him.
