As a human, Jessica was obedient and respectful, at least most of the time. She would occasionally go against her parents rules by listening to non-Chirstian music at school and sneaking to go to a party with friends. Because of her strict lifestyle, Jessica had to hole up most of her emotions. Her parents expected her to be a good girl, get good grades, and be a devout Christian, and she resents them for it. Jessica was a sweet girl, though, and her sweetness managed to (mostly) carry over into her vampire life.
Since becoming a vampire, all the emotions she pent up before are free. She tends to be childish and whiny, causing those around her to become quickly annoyed with her. Jessica is also adventurous and curious about experienes. She resents the rules Bill enforces, and she also resents him for not being a "good" maker. Born and raised into a highly religious family, or "bible thumpers" as she calls them, Jessica lived a very sheltered life. She wasn't allowed to listen to any genres of music, other than Christian music, and she wasn't allowed to use technology such cell phones and computers because her parents thought technology would bring sin into their lives. Her clothes consisted of mostly long, hand-me-down dresses that were plain and old-fashioned.
Even with so many resrictions in her life, Jessica managed to learn about popular culture. She listened to different genres of music at school, the one place her parents couldn't completely control her life at. Jessica snuck out of her room to attend a party with friends. Also, during church camp one year, Jessica and her friend Katie snuck into the pastor's office and watched youtube videos.
Jessica became quickly caught into the web that was vampires. She got herself caught and stuffed in a trunk. Awaiting her death, she barely got the chance to even pray before her life ended. Bill Compton was forced to turn the innocent Jessica into a vampire as his punishment for killing the vampire Longshadow. Upon joining the ranks of the vampire race, Jessica relished the fact that she was a vampire, and therefore didn't need to listen to rules.
She disliked Bill at first, and ended up staying with Eric and Pam at Fangtasia for a short timespan (about 2 weeks), before being given back to Bill for being too irritating and annoying. After returning to Bill and moving into the Compton House, she was forced to "mainstream." She hated the idea, but eventually got over it. The taste of disgusted her, but her and Bill finally figured out a mixture of the different blood types that she liked.
Jessica met Hoyt Fortenberry at Merlotte's before leaving for Dallas with Sookie and Bill. The two quickly bonded and shared their first kiss later that evening. Their relationship grew, until the fateful day that Hoyt's mother got in the way. Now their relationship is over, but Jessica still has deep feelings for him.

Smirking, Vitani twirled her pen in her hand. She quickly processed all the different ways she could answer that question. Swiping at her bangs to get them out of her face she replied with, "Yea, you can definitey say that since I'm in here pretty much every other day." She didn't even bother to look sheepish about it or anything. There was no point.
Vitani sat back in her seat and started tapping lightly on the desk to pass the time while staring out the window. A squirrel was climbing up the tree and it held her attention for a few seconds. She was aware that the kid was practically staring at her, but she really didnt care. That was pretty normal for her. People were always staring.
"I'm Sage, by the way, and you are?"
"I'm Vitani..." she replied, taken aback slightly. Most people didn't bother to learn her name. Or they already knew it. There weren't that many girls in the school who were labeled as being "goth" and that were regulars in detention. She wanted to turn around in her seat and go back to ignoring everyone and everything that was in the room, but something told her to keep the conversation going. There was just something about the kid... It was like he wasn't going to judge her based on his first impression of her and what he'd heard about her from others.
