Jesse had waited and bided his time for weeks. He sat, he watched, and he waited for his moment. It’d gotten to the point where he’d been allowed just outside the door, them believing he will to escape broken. But he timed this to after Nikolai was sleeping. He knew he wouldn’t make it two steps out the door and he’d be there to stop him. He had planned to wait a little longer, but he saw just how close he was getting to Nikolai. And it scared him a little, he had to leave, and he had to do it now. He wanted his freedom. He just hoped Nikolai would let him be if he succeeded in getting away. He really had no way of knowing how this would play out. So he slipped out of the vampire’s bed and climbed into his cloths. He wondered if even this attempt should be worth his time if Nikolai was just going to come and get him himself. He knew that he wanted his freedom, so he’d try anything to have it back.
Walking down stairs he acted as if nothing was amiss. The human guards were just starting they’re ‘shift’. And he knew one place that wasn’t watched just yet. But he went about his usual daily actions. Trying to make the appearance that he wasn’t up to anything. And it was mid-afternoon before he made his move and slipped unseen down one hallway, and out a side door. He smiled at how beautifully this was paying off. He planned this just right. Though there was the issue of the property itself. It was bare and nothing for him to hide behind should a guard look his way. But he took off running either way. He had to make it there before he was seen. But it just had to be his luck, just as soon as he reached the forests edge, he was spotted. And then the chase was on. Bare foot he ran through the trees and marsh. He was using the foul stench of the marsh to cover his own from the search dogs the human guards were bound to be using. And he ran to a point he remembered that held hi m up last time. He’d fallen into a pit of mud and god knows what. But this he knew would further mask his scent hopefully .
And now, mud-covered, he continued to run through the dense forestry. And for what seemed like hours pass by. He saw the darkening of the sky. And he heard something else that was unforeseen. Thunder. He cursed the fact that it was beginning to rain hard. He’d gotten even farther than before. To far to even hear the dogs confused barking. But the rain hardened and began to wash his skin bare. And finally he stopped running as he came upon a paved road. He breathed a little easier finding this. But the sky was dark down, with the rain pouring down. And then he’d felt it, he felt Nikolai awaken from his sleep. And he could only think of one way to keep from being taken back, he needed to find a crowded place and fast. By now he knew the Parker was possibly hot on his trail, if he could find his scent that is, hoping he’d hidden it well enough. But there was no telling about that. Though he and Parker considered themselves good friends, he knew he would keep loyalty to his master.

Anger. It was the first thing that ran through Nikolai's slender figure as the setting of the sun and slow rising of the moon beckoned him to stir from his daylight slumber. His eyes slowly opened and he arched on his bed, rolling onto his back, expecting to find a certain brunette hybrid by his side. But nothing. Hell, the bed had been cold for hours. And Jesse's scent was faint, save for the spots of blood on the silk sheets. The only hint that the fairy had even been sleeping in his bed. Nikolai was silent for the longest time, just lying there stretched out on his back, eyes staring up at the ceiling as he concentrated. Worry, fear, and anxiety. These feelings rolled from a source in the distance. His Jesse. Yes, damn it, his. Jesse had been his since he'd claimed the hybrid so many weeks ago. And now he was leaving him again? Well, this time he'd go after him personally. Rising into a sitting position, the first words to come out of his mouth in an angry snarl of Greek, Nikolai found his hands raking through his hair to stop from ripping apart the human guards now answering his call. What he didn't expect was the news they brought with them.
"...What?"
He turned to face Lewis, the Tribunal messenger, his hands clasped behind his back as he stared down the 500 year old vampire. The younger vampire bowed his head, holding out a letter that was addressed to Nikolai, and most clearly from the Magister. The youthful vampire stared at the letter before he ripped the envelope and opened it, his eyes widening even more as he stared at the words on the page.
"King of Oklahoma?" The Magister had just appointed him as... King? He was a King? There had to be some kind of mistake. He hadn't lived in Oklahoma for years. And while he was one of the strongest vampires around, he was sure there were others suitable for the job. Hell, he wasn't even sure he... His head lifted, and he crinkled the letter before throwing it into the fire, and turning back to Lewis. "Return to the Tribunal, and inform the Magister that I accept his appointment, and I will do everything in my power to make sure Oklahoma stays a proud and noble kingdom. Now, if you'll excuse me. I have... something to attend to."
With that, he turned, snatching his jacket off the chair beside Lewis before he all but disappeared from the room. Damn Jesse to hell. When, and that was most certainly a big when, he found him, he'd string the hybrid up by his wrists and show him the error of his ways. He'd show Jesse the true meaning of the word fear when it came to vampires. He'd... his train of thought stopped as he blanched, heading out into the fresh evening air, his blue eyes lifting to gaze up at the crescent moon before he followed the feelings rolling off Jesse, his blood bond leading him right to the hybrid he was falling for.

He’d been walking the road he’d found for over an hour now. His bare feet squishing in the grass and gravel next to it. After a few moment of feeling Nikolai’s anger he did his best to push it from his mind. He’d hurt him by escaping again. And it bothered him that he cared for it. He’d been getting close to him for weeks. But he couldn’t understand what they were, or why he had them. Or why it was hurting him to know he’d hurt Nikolai somehow. He pulled his arms around his front to give some cover as the air got very cold. And here he was trudging his way through the rain, and he was freezing now. And in the downpour he saw lights behind him. Oh how he hoped this would be a break for him. So he stood out on the middle of the road, his hands waving in the air. And the car slowed down to stop in front of him.
He walked around to the driver window, who in return rolled her window down. The girl couldn’t have been more than 18. “Um, you are aware its raining aren’t you?” she asked, laughing slightly. And so Jesse perked his voice a little, not really wanting to tell her why he was out here. “Yea, I’ve been out here a while got lost and all. You know.” He grinned. “If you’re headed into Shreveport, would you mind giving me a ride?” he asked politely. She smiled and answered, “Sure, get in.” she said before rolling her window up. And Jesse sighed with relief. And he walked around to get in the passenger side door.
He was thankful to be out of the rain and on his way to some crowded area. And he listen to the girl go on and on about something he wasn’t really paying much attention to. He just spoke to let her believe he was listening. When in fact he was putting more effort into warming himself up. Though nothing could really be done for his wet clothing. And only then sound of her radio accompanied them. He’d been sitting back in the seat for moments with his eyes closed. But then he noticed something had changed, he could feel something, and she was slowing down. “Well, will you look at that. Guess you weren’t alone out here.” She spoke, coming to a stop. Her car stopped maybe inches for him. He knew who it was before they even saw him clearly through the wind and rain. “Nikolai.” He breathed, barely audible to even him. And a look and feeling of defeat came over him. He’d gotten so far, only to be captured again. But he did have one consolation. Only Nikolai was able to catch him this time. Then Jesse came to realize that this bond he shared with him, would never let him be free. And an even worse feeling came afterwards. He’d gotten this girl involved. And now he feared not for his life, knowing Nikolai would want him alive, but for hers.

It was raining, and Nikolai was soaked through, but at the present moment in time he didn't care. He was beyond caring. Caring had all but flown out the proverbial window as he walked through the forest towards the main road. He knew Jesse was close. Even if he'd been running for hours, Nikolai had followed his scent and taken mere minutes to find the location of his fairy. His... fairy. Was jesse his? Even when the Fairy had been sharing his bed, sharing everything that Nikolai had had to offer, had Jesse truly been his, or had he been playing him the entire time. A hand rose to rake through soaking blonde hair as he stopped on the road, tilting his chin to watch, and wait. If his instincts were correct, the car that had picked Jesse up would be coming any moment. There was part of him that wanted to rip Jesse to shreds, to sink his fangs into the fairy's warm, sweet body and drain him until there wasn't a drop of blood left. But he knew he couldn't, and he knew he wouldn't. He was in too deep. He was... attached. And he hated jesse for that. He hated that the fairy made him feel... human.
His gaze lifted as he heard a car, and he waited in perfect silence as the driver slowed to a halt, his snarling growl turning into a small smile as he observed the young girl in the driver's seat, before he approached. One good thing about being turned at the age of 15-16, was that people thought he was innocent.
"Hey sweetie, aren't you a bit young to be walking around alone out here?" He almost laughed at her comment as he leant down to meet her eye, ignoring Jesse for the moment, even though he was quite aware of the fact that his fairy's heartbeat had increased, or that he was worried for the girl's life.
"How nice," he purred, leaning in to trail his knuckle along her cheek, before he caught her chin, his lips curving into a smirk as his fangs clicked out. "But I haven't been young for a very long time, miss. Now, it seems you have my friend. You don't mind if I take him off your hands, do you?" The way he kept her gaze, his eyes staring into hers, was obvious as to what he was doing. He was glamouring her, being gentle in his actions. He was no ruthless monster that went around slaughtering young, innocent girls. And by god, did she smell of innocence. Hell, he could almost smell the virgin on her. No, his thoughts returned to Jesse, and he smiled. "That's right, darling. Now, my friend and I will leave, and you'll keep driving, and forget about us. Find a nice boy, and get laid... You'll have lots of fun, I'll promise."
As his gaze broke, he turned his attention to Jesse, finally, before suddenly he was on the fairy's side of the car, opening the door. "Get out..." his tone warned not to disobey, and after a moment he caught Jesse's arm and pulled him from the car, before shutting the door. His eyes watched as the car took off into the rain, before he turned to face his fairy. "So... trying to leave me, were you?"
